Thanksgiving
We spent Thanksgiving at Mike's parents. Clara met her Great Aunt Lauretta and her Great Uncle Joe.

Trips
So I often stumble upon other people's blogs. They write so much and sometimes the posts are quite meaningful. I wish I had the time to write more often, my posts are mainly photos. My brain is often very tired too, I cannot think of what to write or the words to say.
So if you ever want to get lost online, just click on one of my blog links and then another and you'll find some pretty meaningful messages.
Anyway, Clara went in two airplane trips in 2009. First one was to Las Vegas. Clara and I went to visit my sister Jessica and her family. Clara did well on the plane except for the ride back. I thought she just got motion sickness but no, she had the stomach flu (after her not feeling well went on for another 24 hours I took her to the doctor) :( . I learned one thing, bring a change of clothes for yourself, not just for the baby, for the plane. At least we were sitting next to a nice man who had little ones himself.
Here is Clara on the plane to Las Vegas. We flew Southwest, where your bags fly for free :) .
It was definitely different being out there with a little one. Clara adjusted quite well to the time change. And she would wake up between 6-7am (so would her cousin), they would both eat breakfast and play some and then take naps. So each day, we'd finally leave the house around 3pm. And then have to get home in time to feed them dinner. But we made it to Ceasar's Palace (my shopping trip to FAO Schwartz) and the Secret Garden at...shut I cannot remember which casino. Anyway, some photos...

Clara loved the dolphins. For some reason she loves anything to do with water.

Next time they see each other, they will probably be able to play together. Slowly they are becoming more aware of the other's presence. I think they will be pretty good friends :) .
The next trip we took was to St. Louis. We went out there right before Thanksgiving to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. Mike/daddy came with us also. Again, Clara did well on the plane but this time, she caught a cold. And it lasted till Christmas! It is not fun watching your child be sick.
My sister Sarah and brother in law Dave live out in St. Louis. They bought a 100+ year old house. It is quite nice. It was a nice trip. And, my sister Sarah is expecting a baby sometime in April (unless he/she decides to come early).
Not finding any photos from our trip to St. Louis. Our camera was acting up so every photo we took came out blurry. We got some good video of Clara swinging on the swing set and going down her first slide. I also sat her down in the leaves, tried to get some good fall photos, and she found out what dirt is. She loved going through all the leaves and picking up the dirt in her hands.
When we got home, we turned right around and drove up to Mike's parents for Thanksgiving...

We got together with our birth class friends for a holiday party on December 13 and Santa made a visit.
First time on his lap, Clara was real curious who this big man in a red suit with a white beard was.
Second time around (because we hadn't gotten any photos of her from the front), not so much. But safe in mommy's arms, she likes Santa again.
Lathan, hmm not sure about this....
We always try to get a baby group photo at our get togethers, here is the latest (love it when they could sit still :) ). Luke is not in the photo because he already took off, Clara is in close pursuit and Nolan is upset because he was taken away (for the photo) from his most favorite toy. Hayden and Braydon are discussing the latest on wall street, Hayden is not too crazy about his odds.
