And it is...a girl! Our bundle, our surprise package, is a girl.
Clara Grace Biasi, (named after my Grandma Rawski) was born on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at 9:40pm. She weighed 7lbs 1oz and was 19.5 inches long.
Do you want the long story or short version?...
My pregnancy was pretty normal, had some morning sickness but

nothing that kept my off my feet. The only huge thing was needing to have my appendix removed at my 20th week. That was scary and "our" story as Mike would call it.
After the healing from that surgery, I felt fine and actually the best I had felt while pregnant. Sometimes it was hard to even remember I was pregnant. We began our birth classes in December and they went till Jan 12. Late-mid January, we hear from two couples from the class "we've had our babies!" One was a month old, the other two weeks. Oh boy, it is start

ing. Mike and I shifted into high gear.
Soon, all before their due dates, four more from our class had their babies. I started to get anxious. One, I hadn't felt any braxton hicks nor any pre/false labor. I started to wonder when Baby B would make his/her appearance.
Well, Baby B decided to join us late. I went past my due date by a week and a half. I started to feel prelabor on Wednesday, Feb 25. Thursday, Feb. 26 I had my 41 week doctor appointment. Not much progress. Was scheduled to be induced on Sunday, March 1.
Okay, so that morning rolls around and around 1:30am, I went into real labor, early

stages but I knew it was real labor. Contractions every seven minutes. Knowing we had a scheduled time to arrive at the hospital, Mike and I went about our morning and arrived at the hospital at 7:30am. Progress at last. They decided to break my water and around 10am something I went into active labor.
I have to say, that was the hardest thing I have ever done. Yes, labor is harder than running a marathon. Around 3pm, I could not take the pain anymore and requested (demanded) an epidural. I was 6cm BTW, that was good. Got the epidural and it took affect. At 7:30 I was fully dilated and Baby B was at +2 stage. Started pushing at 8:30pm and she arrived about an hour later.
These first few days have been crazy. But she is a blessing. She is so cute. Pray that Mike and I will be good parents to our little girl. We love her so much.
Katie, Mike, Bear, and now...Clara
