Just a cute photo

The two littlest/youngest Meyer grandchildren. Aren't they just so adorable :) !

Duke Gardens

We took a trip to Duke Gardens on Monday. It was beautiful out. All the flowers and trees were in bloom.

Jessica holding Jocelyn and me holding Clara.

The flowers were lovely. Clara enjoyed her day. And we saw some wildlife, Clara's first duck. We also saw two frogs swimming around in the pond.

Jocelyn and Bear enjoying the sunny warm day.

Again, after a long day, Clara needs a nap.

Family visit

Family came to visit this past weekend for my niece Jocelyn's baptism. Jocelyn is the daughter of my sister Jessica and brother in law Dion. She is adorable; she is nine months old. She loves the sound of her voice :) and she crawls now so she gets into everything. And she puts everything in her mouth. It was cool, though, to watch her; before we know it Clara will be doing all that too.

It was a busy weekend for Clara. She enjoyed meeting all her cousins and aunts and uncles on the Meyer side.

After a long day, Clara needed a nap. Susan put Clara to sleep. We might be buying her a plane ticket to come babysit for us some day :) .

Happy Easter

We spent Easter 2009 at Grandma and Grandpa (or Grammy and Grampy) (maybe we'll let Clara decide what to call them :) ) M's house. It was a nice spring day. We went to 7:45am mass, I tried to nap afterwards, and then headed over to G and G's house for dinner around 1:30pm. It was very good. We then played some games and had to hurry home for the Amazing Race, like my favorite show. That and Lost. Oh and The Office. Those shows are great. Anyway, hope everyone had a nice Easter!

Look at the cute bunnies on her feet. Everyone at church got a kick out of them. And they all thought Clara was so cute.

opps, how did that one get in there. Mike just had to get his Duke gear in a photograph. See how Clara hides her face is disgrace.
Oh, and Easter marked six weeks for Clara. Happy six weeks Baby Girl!

Onesie and ECU

For my baby shower, everyone decorated onesies(got the idea from a friend of mine, Jen) . These onesies are great and have come in very handy. I think Clara may have worn all the newborn and 0-3 month old ones at least once already. Here is a onesie decorated by either cousin Susan or cousin Peter. Thanks Susan and Peter for the wonderful artwork!

Go Pirates! Even Bear had to get in on the action.

Some more photos

You would think with all these photos of Clara sleeping, she sleeps quite well for a baby. She actually does do well through the night but during the day, she takes what we call "power naps." She will doze off and wake up 30 minutes later. You could set your clock by her schedule.

Napping on daddy's shoulder.

This is one of her favorite positions for sleeping. Remember the commercial "Raise your hand of you're Sure."

Look, you can see her eyes. She is awake. She likes the tv (oh boy, do we have a tv junkie on our hands?). Here she is watching one of the NCAA tournament basketball games with mommy. Oh, and we had the movie, Saving Private Ryan, on and she started smiling when Matt Damon made his appearance. Yes Clara, mommy thinks he is pretty good looking too :) . But out of our league and a little too old for you :) .
Outfit she is wearing came from her cousin, Lila Ann. Thanks for the clothes, mommy says I am stylin now.
She is "talking" a lot. It really sounds like she is trying to say words. I know it is just baby talk, though, but it is great.
And I had this idea to put some stuff for her to look at in her pack n'play and she loves it now. One item was a mirror. You will hear her "talking" to the other baby. It is cute.
Her hair which was really dark started to get some red in it. And now it is falling out :( . So she has kind of a silly hair style right now. Measured her yesterday and she is about 22.5 inches long, grown about 3 inches since birth. Not sure what she weighs. My how she is changing right before our eyes.
Mike, daddy, has been great these past few days also. He had his spring break and took over the early morning feedings. Saturday, I actually slept about 12 hours. Oh that felt good. But Mike really is a great father to Clara. And Clara has been able to bond with him and that is good. He goes back to work tomorrow and we will miss him. But I don't think his days will be as long as they were in March.
Clara will get to meet her aunts and uncles and cousins on her mommy's side this weekend. Jocelyn, my sister Jessica's daughter, is getting baptized. Everyone is coming to Chapel Hill. So exciting that Clara will get to meet everyone and everyone will get to meet Clara. We will get some good photos of all the kids.

Watching the Final Four

We are watching the final four. Oh, who is that you are cheering for?...UNC, go Tarheels!

Ignore Mike's shirt, he is protesting.

A Milestone...

...a little early. At 9:45am on Saturday, April 4 Clara rolled over from her back to her stomach! She went both ways (right and left).

I gave her her bottle and put her down on the floor to eat some breakfast and she moved to her side. Then a few minutes later, she rolled onto her stomach. Wow! Then I put her back on her back to see if she would do it again and...she did! And went the other way. What a girl!

She could hold her head up pretty good from about one week. We saw smiles around three weeks and now rolling over at five weeks. (watch, she won't do it again for a few months but still...)

Wow, I did not think I would see a first out of her considering I go back to work in June and that is when the fun is suppose to start, around 3-4 months. So this is great, how exciting!

1 month old birthday

It's been awhile since I last posted. Some images from Clara's first month of life. We've had our ups and downs but her smile makes it all worth while. It is true what they say, newborns do grow up and change quickly. We've gone through sleeping all day and being up all night to eating and sleeping all day to sleeping a few hours at night to being awake and alert all day to sleeping actually pretty well at night for a newborn.
She only really cries when she is hungry and let me tell you, she has been very hungry these last few days. Do they go through a growth spurt at one month?

And we've seen smiles and I think I am starting to hear giggles.

Everything is so new to her, it is fun to watch her take it all in.

She can hold her head up quite well too.

Nickname: Baby Girl
Clara Grace Biasi, we love you very much. You are the cutest in the world. Happy 1 month Birthday! Guess you are now considered an infant :) .
We wish all the best for you. Love, mommy and daddy
